The Sheletta Show” on 830WCCO Radio to offer sign language interpreters for deaf and hard-of-hearing state fairgoers

Watching their favorite broadcast personalities do their shows live from the State Fair is a cherished and longtime tradition for many Minnesotans.

830WCCO Radio host Sheletta Brundidge wants to make sure deaf and hard-of-hearing fairgoers don’t miss out on that highlight of their State Fair experience.

In honor of September's annual designation as Deaf Awareness Month, Brundidge hired two ASL Sign Language interpreters for her weekly show on Saturday, Sept 5 from noon to 3 pm. 

“The State Fair does a great job making the Fair accessible for everyone; they have ASL interpreters ready to go. To tell the truth, I didn’t think of this and ask for one soon enough to reserve interpreters for my show, so I’m using profits from my media and marketing business to pay for this myself,” Brundidge said. 

“I want to make sure everyone can join in on the laughs and all the fun we're having, whether they can hear me or not,” she added.
